Spring 2023 Edition

The Odyssey Magazine Spring Edition #243 is themed ‘Arise Awake’. “Spring adds new life and new beauty to all that is”. In spring we are likened to a bud preparing to burst into bloom, able to arise awake, feeling the life force lighting up our personal spirit and we are filled with aliveness as is nature. It is a time of newness of everything - fresh, vibrant and striving to grow upward toward the sun, toward the light in the same way as we transition from a restful, winter slumber. In this edition we feature Brett Shuttleworth of Smiling Soul Retreats in Wavelength, My Story. Brett Shuttleworth’s remarkable journey from KZN farm-boy to spiritual teacher is an awakening story of love, transformation and the pursuit of a higher consciousness. Not to be missed, we feature Part One of a profoundly significant trilogy. The Rhisotope Project – Science Saving Rhinos, Rhinos Saving People, People Saving Rhinos. Spearheaded by Professor James Larkin, Director of Radiation and Health Physics unit at the University of the Witwatersrand, assisted by a team of passionate, talented and highly qualified conservationists, this is conservation at a level that surpasses everything that exists both locally and internationally. The photo gallery of the KwazuluSpirit Festival 2023 is on the last two pages of this edition which brings the celebration to life. We trust you will enjoy this edition as much as we enjoyed crafting it for you. Spring blessings, Ed and the OM Team
